Trying To Do It All Yourself
In this episode, we discuss the importance of knowing when to ask for help.
- Trusting yourself and being self-sufficient are not mutually exclusive from asking for help. But there is a big difference between being someone who asks for help because you’ve become dependent on others for validation, and someone who does their part and recognizes where they need help.
- Imagine a world where people were self-sufficient AND embraced the interconnectedness of humanity.
- There is great value in being aware of where your strengths and weaknesses are. It shows you where you can help and illuminates where you can give someone else the opportunity to help.
- “Don’t be ashamed of needing help. You have a duty to fulfill just like a soldier on the wall of battle. So what if you are injured and can’t climb up without another soldier’s help?” - Marcus Aurelius
